Indications of Adryl 100 ml

The following conditions are treated with diphenhydramine:

Vasomotor rhinitis can be seasonal or persistent.

Urticaria, angioneurotic oedema, and anaphylaxis are all symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Pruiritic symptoms

Prescriptions for emesis and motion sickness are available.

Meniere's disease and parkinsonism are examples of miscellaneous conditions.

Pharmacology

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine with sedative and anticholinergic properties. It competes with histamine for H1-receptor sites on GI, blood vascular, and respiratory tract effector cells.

Dosage & Administration

Adult-

Most allergic conditions: 25-50 mg three times a day with a further 50 mg at night.

Children-

1 to 5 years of age: 5 mg i.e., 2.5 ml of elixir 4 times a day

More than 6 years of age: 10 mg i.e. 5 ml of elixir 4 times a day

Interaction of Adryl 100 ml

The antituberculous drug para-aminosalicyclic acid (PAS) is dramatically reduced by diphenhydramine treatment in the gastrointestinal system. Diphenhydramine's sedative effect may be amplified by CNS depressants. Diphenhydramine's anticholinergic adverse effects may be amplified by anticholinergic medications.

Contraindications

Ammonium chloride is contra-indicated in the context of compromised hepatic or renal function if you have a known hypersensitivity to Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride.

Side Effects of Adryl 100 ml

Side effect includes sedation, dizziness, tinnitus, fatigue, ataxia, blurred vision, diplopia, euphoria, and epigastric discomfort.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Category B: There are no appropriate and well-controlled studies of diphenhydramine hydrochloride in pregnant women. As a result, diphenhydramine hydrochloride should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride has been known to be excreted in breast milk, hence it is not recommended for use by nursing mothers.

Precautions & Warnings

Patients who are prone to sleepiness, such as drivers and machine operators, should be treated with caution. Drowsiness will be amplified if you drink alcohol or take CNS depressants at the same time.
